The Intelligence of Kika

Kika is a 7-month-old female Congo African Grey, a species widely regarded as the most intelligent of all parrots. Kika has been raised with a focus on ‘brainy, no-nonsense’ development. African Greys are not just mimics; they are cognitive thinkers. Kika is at the peak age where she can begin to associate human words with their actual meanings, rather than just repeating sounds.

Temperament and Personality

Kika is highly observant. Like most Greys, she is a creature of habit. She thrives on a consistent daily schedule and can be sensitive to sudden changes in her environment. While she is socialized and enjoys head scratches, she is not a ‘cuddle-bug.’ She prefers an owner who respects her intelligence and provides plenty of mental puzzles. Kika is prone to forming a very strong bond with one primary person, making her an incredibly loyal companion.

Environment and Care

Kika’s well-being is our priority. Her cage should be large enough for her to play and move freely, ideally placed with one corner against a wall to provide a sense of security. Our facility uses a closed aviary system with multiple HEPA and carbon filters to ensure the air Kika breathes is as clean as possible. We also use 6000K full-spectrum lighting to simulate natural sunlight, which is essential for her Vitamin D synthesis and overall mood.

Nutrition and Health

Kika is fed a premium diet to prevent common deficiencies in Vitamin A and Beta-carotene. Her meals consist of Nutri-Berries, which encourage natural foraging behavior, along with fresh kale and cooked sweet potatoes. Because she is on a high-quality pelleted diet, she generally does not require extra vitamin supplements.
